Memorial service set for Clarkston mayor

A memorial service for Clarkston mayor Howard Tygrett will be held Saturday, Jan. 22, at the Clarkston International Bible Church, 3895 Church Street in Clarkston. The event will take place at 10 a.m.
Tygrett, who also was an assistant manager at REI in Buford, was elected the mayor of Clarkston and was sworn in in January of 2010.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Howard Tygrett Memorial Fund,c/o SunTrust Bank Rockbridge Memorial Branch # 1887560, 3850 Rockbridge Rd., Stone Mountain, Ga. 30083.
Tygrett, 40, is survived by his wife, Amy, and their children Alice Elizabeth and Ty.
