The death of a man found on a DeKalb County playground has been determined by county officials to be a homicide.
The victim, whose identity remains unknown, was shot to death, according to DeKalb County Medical Examiner Pat Bailey.
“The body wasn’t dead long. It had not decomposed; [it] wasn’t dead over one or two days,” Bailey said.
Due to the ongoing investigation, Bailey said he could not make further comment.
The victim, found at Tobie Grant Park, was described in a police report as a 20-year-old Black male.
The body was discovered at 9 a.m. by a walker in the park playground area, according to reports. Soon after, Willie Mosley an assistant at the park’s recreation center, was alerted and called police.
The victim was unresponsive and had signs of physical trauma to the head, according to police reports.
