Lawsuit accuses Bishop Eddie Long of sexual coercion

Two men have filed lawsuits in DeKalb County against New Birth Missionary Baptist Church leader Bishop Eddie Long. The lawsuits claim that Long forced the two men into sexual acts in return for money, cars and trips.
Anthony Flagg, 20, and Maurice Robinson, 21, are the plaintiffs in the case and are represented by Atlanta attorney B.J. Bernstein.
The suit alleges that the sexual encounters began when both were 16 years old. The encounters began after both men were enrolled in Longfellow Youth Academy—Flagg was 16 and Robinson was 14 when they entered the Academy.
According to the Web site, the Longfellow Youth Academy’s vision is “training our youth to live, love and lead.”
The lawsuits state that the men are seeking jury trials for unspecified damages. The lawsuit claims that both men have “suffered severe emotional distress, mental pain and suffering, and adverse physical consequences.”
