Police search for suspects in animal cruelty case

DeKalb County Animal Cruelty Task Force investigators are searching for persons responsible for shooting a dog in the head on Dec. 30, DeKalb Police spokesman Jason Gagnon said.

Officers responded to 5412 Terrytown Lane in Lithonia where they found the dog walking near the intersection of Terrytown Lane and Lyons Road.

Investigators combed the area for evidence and spoke with residents in the area but were unable to find out anything more about the shooting. The dog was taken to an animal hospital for treatment and is recovering.
