The DeKalb County Police Department is seeking assistance in identifying a man believed responsible for attempting to commit four sexual assaults.
The incidents occurred along the Hambrick Road corridor near Memorial Drive and Rockbridge Road Oct. 1-20, according to a media release.
In each instance the victim was walking alone near Hambrick Road and the suspect approached from behind and engaged them in brief conversations, according to detectives.
“When the victims proceeded to walk away, the suspect would inappropriately touch the women and attempt to remove articles of their clothing,” according to the media release. In each case, the women were able to flee with only minor physical injuries.
The suspect is described as a dark-skinned Black man, with a slender build, approximately 20-30 years old, 5-feet-6 to 5-feet-10, with a distinctly large nose.
Detectives are currently working on developing a composite sketch.
Police are encouraging residents in the area to “remain vigilant about their safety and not walk unaccompanied if possible and report any suspicious activity immediately by calling 9-1-1,” the release stated.
Anyone with information that can assist with identifying the suspect is asked to call the DeKalb County Police Department’s Special Victims Unit at (770) 724-7710.
