Commissioner leads effort to assist fire victims

DeKalb County Super District 7 Commissioner Stan Watson is sponsoring a communitywide assistance drive to help 10 families in Decatur who were victims of a recent fire.
In addition to Watson, the Organization of the DeKalb Educators (ODE), Commissioner Larry Johnson, Rep. Howard Mosby and the Gresham Park Neighborhood Association are accepting donations of linens, towels, kitchen utensils, cleaning supplies, toiletries, clothes, shoes, school supplies and gift cards for these families.
Donations can also be dropped off at the ODE Office, 100 Crescent Centre Parkway, Suite 290, Tucker, or at Meadowview Elementary School each day from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Donations will be presented Thursday, Oct. 25 from 8-10a.m. at Meadowview Elementary School, located at 1879 Wee Kirk Road, Atlanta.
