The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Squad arrested 21-year-old Terrance Watley at 5 p.m. Oct. 10 in front of Crestview Apartments at 4946 Snapfinger Woods Drive.
Watley is accused of the armed robbery of a Georgia Tech student in the North Avenue Apartments East during the early morning hours of July 1.
According to a media release from the sheriff’s office, Watley and fellow suspect Steven Terry followed other students into the secured apartments. When approached by an awakened student, Watley and Terry allegedly pointed a gun at him and took his laptop and a cell phone.
Georgia Tech police arrested Terry on Sept. 6 and have been searching for Watley since, according to the media release. Georgia Tech police solicited the assistance of the fugitive squad after receiving information indicating that Watley was hiding out in DeKalb County.
At the time of the media release, Watley was being transported to the DeKalb County Jail to await extradition to Fulton County where he will be charged with armed robbery and burglary.
