No charges are pending in the case of a 4-year-old boy who accidentally shot himself, according to DeKalb Police.
The incident happened May 28 at a home at 3801 Cedar Trace Lane in Ellenwood at approximately 10:30 a.m. Police said the child went into a bedroom and found a box with a gun in it. The boy took the gun out of the box and the weapon accidentally discharged, grazing the child in the head, police said.
The boy was taken to a local hospital and his injuries are not life threatening, police said. The investigation is ongoing.
