‘Jobs Bus’ to make stop in Lithonia April 9

DeKalb County’s Mobile Career Center, also known as the “jobs bus,” will make a stop in Lithonia April 9.

The bus will be at the Stonecrest Library 10 a.m.–4 p.m. The library is located at 3123 Klondike Road, Lithonia.

The mobile center is designed to help residents find employment by providing job search assistance, adult workshops and training, resume writing, and interviewing tips.

Businesses are also able to use the mobile unit for recruiting, pre-employment screenings, interviewing and training.

 

County begins Lunch & Learn series April 11

DeKalb County will begin its series of Lunch & Learn sessions to help citizens get healthy with Mind, Body & Spirit.

Mind, Body & Spirit is a presentation that will offer advice on losing unwanted weight through a a holistic approach.

Presented in partnership with DeKalb Medical Center, Mind, Body & Spirit is set for Wednesday, April 11, noon to 1 p.m. at Decatur Library, 215 Sycamore Street, Decatur.

The presentation is free and open to the public. However, space is limited and registration is required. For more information or to register, e-mail gbjohnson@dekalbcountyga.gov.

 

Microsoft representative to discuss latest tools, jobs April 12

A Microsoft representative will be on hand to discuss the company’s latest tools and related jobs during a seminar at the Porter Sanford Center on April 12, 10 - 11:30 a.m.  There is no charge for admission.

The event, sponsored by DeKalb Commissioner Larry Johnson, will be a showcase of cutting-edge technology offerings for students seeking technology careers and professionals seeking certifications.
