County budget town hall meeting set for today
DeKalb County Commissioner Jeff Rader will hold a budget town hall meeting for District 2 on Monday, Feb. 6, at 7 p.m.
Residents will have the opportunity to learn about some of the budgetary challenges facing the county in the coming year and review the administration’s proposed 2012 budget.
The town hall meeting will be at Greek Orthodox Church, located 2500 Clairmont Road, Atlanta.
State representative to hold business town hall meeting
“Barriers to Business in Georgia” will be the topic of a town hall meeting to be held by State Rep. Karla Drenner on Wednesday, Feb. 8.
Participants will discuss the effect of “red tape” on businesses in the meeting at the Clarkston campus of Georgia Perimeter College, located at 555 North Indian Creek Drive, Clarkston.
The event will be 6-8 p.m. in the Jim Cherry Learning Resources Center Auditorium.
Voter registration deadline today
The deadline to register to vote or to change a name or address for the presidential preference primary and special election is Monday, Feb. 6.
Applications can be submitted at the DeKalb County Voter Registration and Elections main office, 4380 Memorial Drive, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or at any DeKalb County library. Applications can also be downloaded at www.dekalbvotes.com and mailed in using the free mailer provided.
Applications must be postmarked Feb. 6 to be processed for the March 6 the presidential preference primary and special election.
DeKalb CEO holds town hall meeting Feb. 7
DeKalb County CEO Burrell Ellis will meet hold a town hall meeting Tuesday, Feb. 7, to give residents an opportunity to discuss and learn about county-related issues. The meeting will be from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Stonecrest Library, located at 3123 Klondike Road in Lithonia.
