Clarkston Police Chief Tony Scipio retires

Clarkston City Manager Keith Barker announced Jan. 5 the retirement of Police Chief Tony Scipio. “We appreciate Chief Scipio’s service to the citizens of Clarkston since his appointment in 2005,” Barker said. “Chief Scipio has indicated to me his desire to pursue an opportunity with the federal government. We wish him well in his future endeavors.”

Scipio’s retirement, which is effective immediately, leaves two DeKalb County municipalities without police chiefs. Lithonia Chief Kennis Harrell’s resignation was effective Dec. 30, 2011.

Clarkston Police Captain Christine Hudson has been appointed Clarkston’s interim police chief until further notice.

This was a set up he ddnt resign on his on will... I know Clarksto police department and council too well... That man has done more for clarkston than anyone ever will... Think about it... Clarkston is too small to even hire a city manager so why hire one; one tgat was fired for ruining dekalb county?? I wish i could say more but i want my comment to get approved so that people can see the truth!!!
