A man was shot and killed in a double shooting at a Memorial Drive condominium complex on July 3, said the DeKalb County Police Department.

Mario Luke, 22, of Decatur, was found in a car dead from a gunshot wound at the corner of Venice Drive and East Tupelo Street, said police spokesman Marcus Hodge.

At midnight July 3, police received a 911 call from Edwin Barcus, 22, who said he and friend had been shot at Blue Sky Condominiums, 3106 Memorial Drive, a few blocks east of Candler Road.

Barcus, who police found at a Shell gas station, was recently released from a local hospital.

Blue Sky Condominiums has been the center of an alleged mortgage fraud scheme involving seven area residents, but is not a factor in the July 3 shootings.

“There are no suspects right now,” said Hodge. “Detectives say robbery could have been a motive, but investigators are still following leads.”
