Champion racks up multiple awards
The Champion Newspaper staff won multiple awards last week at the Georgia Press Association’s (GPA) banquet for the Better Newspaper Contest 2009 held June 5 at the Jekyll Island Club during the 123rd Georgia Press Association Annual Convention.
In its division, The Champion took home 11 first-place awards, five second-place awards and two third-place awards. The paper also received the General Excellence Award in its division.

In May, GPA’s Advertising Conference and Awards banquet was held at Brasstown Valley Resort in Young Harris and The Champion received nine first-place and two second-place awards. The first-place advertising awards winners are:
